Special Tools

We take a highly flexible, responsive and competitive approach to the requirement of special tools in the pharmaceutical industry. Some of our special tools are:

Core-Rod Tooling

Core-Rod Tooling is required for making tablets with a hole in the center of the tablet or for tablet-in-tablet design.

Tungsten Carbide Lined Punches & Dies

Punches & Dies that are made of corrosive material can get corroded. Tungsten Carbide is a hard metal that is used in Punches & Dies to avoid wear and tear and to increase the life of the tools.

Teflon Tip Punches

Sticking is a major problem faced while manufacturing effervescent tablets. Not only does the powder stick to the punch face but it can also corrode the tooling. Teflon Tip Punches are used to minimize these problems as Teflon is less prone to sticking and the disc can be replaced if damaged.

Multi-Tip Tooling

Multi-Tip Tooling is used for tablets that are small in size and require to be manufactured in huge volumes. These tools accommodate more than one tip on a single punch thereby increase the production capacity. Using this tooling requires special skill and this tooling has a shorter life compared to the normal tooling. The Multi-Tip Tooling is ideal for small size tablets.

Rotating Head for Shaped Punches

Shaped tooling has a shorter life compared to round tooling. The reason is the wear and tear of the underside of the punch head. The rotating head tooling helps in avoiding this wear and tear, thereby increasing its life.

Bakelite Relief / Threading on Lower Punch

Sticky tablets can cause jamming of the lower punch. The reason for jamming is the sticking of powder on the wall of the die. To reduce this problem, we give a sharp undercut on the punch tip that acts like a scrapping blade and cleans the die bore at each compression.
